Farewell sunshine, hello snow.

Okay okay, so the headline might be a little dramatic, we’re not expecting snow anytime soon… But we are in equal parts sad and excited about saying goodbye to summer and welcoming autumn.

In one respect, we don’t want summer to be over; we’ve had beautiful weather (yes, even up here in Saddleworth), plenty of crochet inspiration for the beach and beyond, and we’ve loved trying out new and vibrant knitting ideas.

But on the other hand, autumn holds just as much excitement. We can’t wait to launch our ‘one ball beanie’, and we’ve been dreaming of cosy arm-knitted blankets, not forgetting being able to get all wrapped up and snug in a hand-crafted cardigan.

Currently on our autumn list is an off-shoulder jumper.

We’ve been daydreaming about different colours and really want to use our ‘Aran’ yarn in either Pirate Grey or Rust! We can’t decide! I suppose we have no choice but to make two.

We’ve also been thinking about (dare I say it) …Christmas. Handmade presents make a fantastic gift and there’s so many options for all age ranges. Starting now, you’ll be set and sorted way ahead of the holiday rush. Booties and socks for newborns, cosy jumpers and pom-pom adorned scarves are just a few ideas.

Our workshop in September was such a success, we’ve decided to run another on the 23rd October. Everyone loved making the Xmas baubles so why not come along and try it out yourself?

Catherine Arnfield will be joining us again and teaching everyone how to knit and felt these cute little baubles. So get ahead of the crowd and make a start on your Xmas decorations or save them for presents.
